Covid-19 Travel Policy

The safety of our passengers and staff is our chief priority.

Closely monitoring the latest developments related to Covid-19, in order to protect your health and wellbeing, to ensure that you fly and feel safe with us, when you book our flights across the globe, we have implemented exceptional security measures, in correspondence with the regulations of the International Air Transport Association, European Union Aviation Safety Agency, Bulgarian Civil Aviation and Health Authorities.

Before you fly

Check the current regulations and entry requirements of your countries of origin, transit and destination, bearing in mind that often policies might change at a short notice. It is your responsibility to comply with all mandatory Covid-19 travel requirements and ensure all the necessary documentation needed, which may include (though not limited to) a generated QR code, after filling in the Passenger locator form (PLF), a Digital Covid-19 certificate, a proof of a negative PCR/antigen test (regardless of vaccination status). Failure to do so might result in denied boarding or no admission to your country of transfer or destination.

Passengers with any of the Covid-19 relevant symptoms such as fever, newly developed cough, loss of taste or smell, shortness of breath, headache, muscle pain, fatigue, vomiting, diarrhea or other flu like symptoms are strongly advised not to travel to the airport before a medical consultation. Be sure that you have not tested positive and did not have a contact with a Covid-19 case within the period prescribed by the health authorities. Symptomatic passengers identified at the airport by the national public health authorities or the crew members may be refused to continue their journey. During your airport or online check in, under our Covid-19 policy requirements, you may be asked to accept and sign our Health Declaration.

The use of medical face masks (surgical or higher class without an exhalation valve), covering fully your mouth and nose are mandatory at the airport and onboard. Make sure to have a sufficient supply of facemasks and hand sanitizer for the entire duration of your journey.

You are strongly recommended to check-in online on our website (for the flights open to web check in) in order to reduce your stay at the airport. On-line check-in is open 24 hours before scheduled departure and closes 3 hours before departure for European flights and 4 hours before departure for intercontinental flights.

Security procedures and boarding times may be affected and thus take longer time than expected as a result of the newly introduced safety measures protocols, so remember to plan your trip accordingly. In case of any changes, delays or cancellations, you will be notified directly at the contact details (e-mail address and mobile telephone number), you provided during your reservation process (IATA Resolution 830). GullivAir shall not be liable for any damages arising from your failure to comply with the above requirements, as it cannot fulfil its obligation to inform passengers of operational changes or disruptions, in case customer contacts are not in the reservation.

At the Airport before departure

Most airports have restricted access and only passengers are allowed to enter their arrival and departure terminals. Companions are permitted only for unaccompanied minors (UM), passengers requiring assistance or people with reduced mobility (PRM).

Wearing a facemask (surgical or higher class without an exhalation valve), covering completely your mouth, nose and chin at the airport is obligatory. Passengers will be denied boarding if not wearing a facemask.

Strictly observe 1.5 meter physical distance between individuals.

Wash your hands regularly with soap and water and where not possible, use alcohol based hand sanitizers.

Be ready to have your temperature checked before your flight.

Boarding would be performed with no contact, in small groups, starting with the last rows, in order to minimize crowding and keep the 1.5 meter physical distancing.

On board

Our airplanes are equipped with special High efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters and our cabin air is replaced every 3 minutes, thus capturing 99.99% of all the particles and pathogens in the cabin air, including the SARS-COV2 containing droplets. We have reinforced our cleaning procedures and after each flight our airplanes are thoroughly disinfected and cleaned by specially trained teams.

Our cabin crew members are provided with personal protective equipment and are trained accordingly. We have a special hygiene expert appointed for each of our flights.

Wearing a medical face mask (also known as a surgical or procedure mask, complying with the requirements defined in European Standard EN 14683:2019+AC: 2019), covering completely your nose, mouth and chin, with no gap between your face and the mask, is mandatory for everyone over the age of six, through your entire stay on board, to protect yourself and your fellow passengers. Masks should be replaced regularly, when they get wet and soiled, or every 4 hours (if not instructed otherwise) during long haul flights. Make sure to have sufficient number of extra facemasks and hand sanitizer for your entire journey.

Non-medical facemasks, including various forms of self-made, commercially available face covers made of cloth, scarves, handkerchiefs, or other materials shall not be used. They are not standardized and we lack evidence on their efficacy in preventing transmission of COVID-19.

Visors (shields), masks with valves or vents, are not permitted on board as they let the breath flow out to the side and do not provide adequate protection.

Do not touch surfaces and avoid physical contacts with other people. Wash your hands with soap and water or use alcohol based sanitizing wipes before eating or after the use of the lavatory. Avoid touching your face, eyes, nose and mouth. Follow the respiratory etiquette and even though wearing a mask, cough and sneeze into the crook of your elbow, facing the opposite direction of the nearest person.

In-flight services including food and beverage services are reduced to the minimum necessary to ensure your comfort and well being and limit your contacts with the cabin crew members.

Passengers are requested to respect social distancing onboard during boarding and disembarkation. Queuing in the aisle or the alleys for the use of lavatories or standing on the aisle should be avoided. Limit your movement in the cabin to what is essential for your wellbeing.

If you feel ill during your flight, inform the cabin crew members as soon as possible.

Passengers who refuse to adhere to the preventive measures will be refused access to the aircraft cabin or removed from the airplane premises by the competent authorities according to their national/local legislation, if the event takes place before the aircraft doors are shut.

If the event takes place in-flight and the flight safety and the health of other passengers and crew members are endangered, the crew members shall be obliged to take all the necessary measures, including diverting of the flight to the nearest airport and reporting the case for the further actions of the local law enforcement authorities, in line with their national regulations. All the expenses that may occur in that regard will be claimed to the respective unruly passenger.

At the arrival airport

Practice physical distancing, hand hygiene, respiratory etiquette and wear a facemask. Minimize your interaction with people at the arrival terminal.

Collect your bags and leave the terminal building as soon as possible.
